Justin Crowe, Carnivale (journal: seedofdamnation) Pros - great character, can bring him in before canon like Luke, one canonmate who doesn’t seem to post much cons - one canonmate who doesn’t seem to post much, another villian, would have to do scads of historical research on depression-era california
Roy Greenhilt, Order Of The Stick (possible journal: natural20s) Pros - access to canon, should be able to review all online strips before end of apping period. Cons - comes from a world where D&D rules guide reality. I have no idea of how to play D&D. Hmmmmm.
Ivan Vanko, Iron Man 2 (journal: make_god_bleed) Pros - Know canon pretty well. Already have journal with best name. Cons - Am almost as unsuited to play genius Russian ex-con as I am to play warrior from Dungeons and Dragons.
Ser Duncan the Tall, Song of Ice and Fire (possible journal: atrueknight) Pros - short, easy to review canon, strong headvoice, possible scans online to make icons from Cons - need to reaserch medieval life and warfare, possible problems with Martin's stance on fanfic.

I went to the Houston Zoo yesterday. It was a fun experience, even with half the exhibits seemingly damaged or under construction. The African wild dogs were an animal I'd never seen before, which I now regret. They look like some orange and black spotted cross between a hyena and Mickey Mouse. The only two bears I was able to see where the Spectacled Bear and a Grizzly bear that looked like it had just come out of the bath. It did look pretty cute, curled up there on a rock. There are always so many different fascinating things at the reptile house that I'm never sure what to study the longest, but the sheer size of some of the pythons there definitely left an impression.
I've been thinking more about my writing lately. That's usually a bad thing, but now I think I've come up with some reasons why I've been so dissatisfied with what I've written so far.

Sometimes I just wish I could link people to songs in lieu of conversation. Like when I’m feeling worried but thrilled at the prospect of the challenges ahead, I could copy and paste the lyrics to “Bad Moon Rising”. Or when I want to send a great big middle finger to stupid and repressive authority in general, just put up the link to “Another Brick In The Wall”. Much simpler and to the point. Hell, if I had my way we’d do away with this silly “conversation” business and just communicate with movie and song quotes. Can you imagine that? An entire conversation consisting of nothing but recycled dialogue from Pulp Fiction.
On the other hand, given how quickly chatspeak and internet memes seme to be dominating online conversation, that day could be coming any time now.

Hey, IJ? Is there a reason why every link is taking a few dozen clicks to actually work? Or are you taking this insane motif just a wee bit too seriously?

So far, so good. This seems like an easy journal to use. Now all I need to do is find some reason to use it, and my life will be complete! Or my day. Or hour. Or minute.
Whatever.
